General Information

Applied Tropical Agriculture (ATA) is an international peer-reviewed and referred journal published by the School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (SAAT), Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Nigeria. The journal publishes original and review articles in all fields of agriculture, including: crop science, animal science, soil science, horticulture, Fisheries, forestry, wood science, wildlife, biodiversity, agricultural economics, agricultural extension, food science and technology, environmental science, botany, etc. The journal welcomes outstanding contributions in these areas. The emphasis of the journal is on basic and applied scientific research relevant to solving practical problems in agriculture and related fields. Articles submitted to ATA should appeal to both national and international audience.

 

Applied Tropical Agriculture aims to foster progressive partnerships between different stakeholders towards sustainable agriculture and to serve as a platform for dissemination of innovative research in all areas of Agricultural Sciences. The goal is to provide agriculture and forestry with the required knowledge and tools to support productive, resource-efficient and resilient systems that supply food, feed and other bio-based raw materials without jeopardizing the environment, nor compromising ecosystem services, while supporting the development of incentives and policies for thriving rural livelihoods.

 

The journal is published in both print and online versions. Two issues of the journal are published annually. Applied Tropical Agriculture is supported by a strong team of internationally acclaimed researchers on the editorial board made up of the following:

  2. The journal will use its best endeavours to ensure that work published in ATA is that of the named authors and that the published results and conclusions are consistent with the primary data. However, it takes no responsibility for fraud or inaccuracy on the part of the authors.

Papers reporting work with animals must include a reference to the code of practice adopted for experimentation, it is expected that reported experiments have been performed according to appropriate ethical and legal standards. The journal reserve the right not to publish such experiments that violate ethical and welfare issues and take no responsibility for the breach of such rights by any reported experiment.
