ABOUT OUR JOURNAL

You are welcome to the maiden edition of Journal of ChemResearch a biannual publication of the Ondo State Chapter of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN). “What in the World Isn’t Chemistry?’

A table of content page of any Chemistry Journal will reveal that there is an increase in collaborative research as shown by the number of authors and institutions except dearth of Funding agencies. Gone are the days of the lonely eccentric chemist working alone in the laboratory. Science in general has become son intricate that single author write-ups and inventions are to be met with skepticism

There is this assumption that all that can be discovered or analyzed easily has been carried out. However, on the contrary, knowledge gaps may still exist in some of the past investigations waiting to be explored. Chemists-look for knowledge gaps

Collaborative research, especially along interdisciplinary lines offer a new window of opportunity and in particular for those area of chemistry that are somewhat “dry”” We must however encourage genuine and true partnership and not to just add names as co-authors

Lastly, it is time serious thought is given to rational and sustainable purchase, installation and maintenance of the more sensitive and alarmingly expensive analytical instruments required in Chemistry Departments across Nigeria
