  • Abstract:

The study was conducted to assess the physico-chemical properties of water from different sources (well, stream,
rain, tap and borehole) for broiler production. The results obtained showed that sources of water had different
physico-chemical properties within and across sources. However, the values obtained for all the physico- chemical
properties in these water samples were within the recommended standard set by the World Health Organisation
(WHO) for broiler production. The mineral analysis results indicated that most of the macro (Ca, Na and Mg) and
micro (Zn, Fe and Mn) elements in these water samples were within the desirable levels for broiler production.
